Experience and Qualifications:
Jeremy joined JEA in June of 2016. He is responsible for:

  • Evaluating structural and waterproofing deteriorations and failures of commercial properties
  • Designing repairs to structural and waterproofing deficiencies in commercial building elements
  • Creating construction specifications and drawings for repairs
  • Construction project oversight and contract administration

Prior to joining JEA, Jeremy spent four years as a Structural Engineer II for Smislova, Kehneumui & Associates (SK&A). He was responsible for:

  • Evaluating commercial properties for structural and waterproofing deficiencies
  • Design of repairs to concrete slabs, steel supports, waterproofing, roofing facades and plazas
  • Creation of construction specifications and CAD drawings
  • Contract bidding and award, to include permitting and project cost analysis
  • Construction administration, to include construction materials testing

As a Structural Engineer II for Restoration East, Jeremy was responsible for:

  • Managing commercial construction projects/crews, drafting proposals and performing take-offs
  • Performing concrete surveys and engineering interpretations
  • Researching/purchasing supplies and materials required for projects
  • Construction administration, to include leading pre-bid meetings and bid drafting
  • While in this position, he also provided expert technical guidance to American Hydro in the design, analysis and treatment of wastewater resulting from the hydro-demolition process.

Relevant Project Experience:
Jeremy started his “path to P.E.” while in high school, interning for Gardner James Engineering and Air & Land Water Engineering, both located in Columbia, Maryland. He was responsible for: drafting AutoCAD site plans/specification drawings and construction packages; writing and editing proposals; managing equipment and storage; performing field investigations, wastewater plant inspections, and garage/façade surveys; interacting with clients; and performing computer repair and system/network administration.
